All kids are pulled at birth.
Does are milked and clean does colostrum is fed to kids that are being used for meat.
Keeper kids--bucks and does to keep in the herd--are fed high 150 IgG colostrum, as much as they want for the first 24 hours.
All kids are trained to the lambar (multi-feeder) as soon as they are off colostrum.
Heat lamps are NEVER used. Deep bedding, draft free area, dry and clean bedding, good quality hay, starter ration, and milk make for healthy kids.

At a week or less of age, kids are disbudded, all extra boys are banded, and tattoos are put in ears. Lamanchas get a microchip and will get their tattoos later.
5 day treatment of sulfa for coccidia and start medicated feed (I have medicated feed from day 1 in the pens) OR give Baycox 1 day treatment. Coccidia prevention is repeated every 3 weeks until they are 5 months old.
Nasalgen 3 PMH and CDT
Nasalgen 3 PMH is a NASAL vaccine, do not use the injectable!! Dosage is 1/2 cc per nostril.

Tattoo any Lamanchas still needing to be done.
Weigh kids, they should be around 50# or more.
All kids should be eating well, both hay and grain. They should be ready to wean.
